With over 700 MW of generation capacity, the operation of four power stations and interests in several cogeneration plants supplying electricity to third parties, Origin's Generation capacity is going from strength to strength.
We're also committed to developing over 900 MW of new generation capacity in the next 12 months.
While we generate most of our electricity in gas fired power stations in Australia, we also hold a majority controlling interest in Contact Energy in New Zealand - Contact generates some 27% of New Zealand's electricity from hydro, geothermal and gas energy sources. And crucially, we're also investing in electricity generation technologies that produce no or low greenhouse gas emissions, such as innovative SLIVER solar cell technology.
